when I click on the email link on the webpage I get an error message that
says microfsotf outlook cannot start.
I have outlook 2007 windows vista home basic IE 8
any suggetions would be great.

Repost to the outlook.general group as that is the application your having
problems with.

Review the system Event Viewer for any Outlook entries / errors, then post
those to an Outlook group
I assume Outlook works normally, if not run Office Diagnostics
