Yes, they get jealous and fight. Data triangles can be very
disruptive to a PC's family life.

Sometimes this can work out if you make it clear to the old drive
that your new one is your priority and that you'd like to stay friends but
not at the expense of your new data relationships. I think a lot depends
on how hard the breakup was. If the old drive had crashed heads or wouldn't
even spin up this is obviously doomed from the start, and even minor
electronic problems can make an ongoing relationship difficult.
