| What backup software is included in which vista version? Does ntbackup still exist, as-is, and is it included with all versions of Vista? I wouldn't mind an update of the features as long as it can still do a full backup that can be restored to bare iron. -- a d y k e s @ p a n i x . c o m Harrison for Congress in NY 13CD www.harrison06.com Don't blame me. | Re: What backup software is included in which vista version? No. Vista has a completely different file backup program. No ntbackup does not exist in Vista. The backup program was reworked from the ground up. One of the changes is that for certain versions it contains Complete PC Backup which is a drive imaging. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvist...precovery.mspx -- Rock [MVP - User/Shell] |

In particular if I use the XP backup program to backup My documents and settings can those files be restored in Vista? |

| Re: What backup software is included in which vista version? Not easily. Best to just drag and drop them on some media (best an external drive) to save them and do the same to return to Vista. You can install the ntbackup program in Vista to restore, buy why?
