Explorer shows treelines

Win Explorer started showing vertical treelines and I can't figure out how
to get rid of them (they are ugly). I thought that this isn't possible.

Open Windows Explorer. Press the ALT key. At the top, click on Tools >
Folder Options. Then click the View Tab. Make sure "Display simple folder
view in Navagator pane" is checked.

One other thing. You'll have to close Windows Explorer and reopen it to
notice the any changes.

Re: Explorer shows treelines

Well I did all of these things yesterday, even rebooted to no avail...
And now it works just fine (so I must have done something wrong because at
the same time my Virtual PC Vista blue screened)

Thanks anyway
