Visual Studio Patches

Hi all:

I downloaded the 2 VS 2005 updates as documented on the Microsoft web site,
however when I try to install them I get a message:

"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package
exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package"

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

John.

Sounds like they might have been corrupted during the download. Try
downloading them again.

Re: Visual Studio Patches

John,

Can't help with the problem but SP 1 and the Vista update worked just fine
for me. Took foooooooorrrrrr evvvvver though to apply the updates.

I have a clean install of VS 2005 and Vista. I had problems upgrading with
both 2003 and 2005 installed.

Sorry,
Brian

Re: Visual Studio Patches

VS 2005 SP1 takes absurd amounts of time both on XP and Vista, but it works,
just give
it a few hours to munch the bytes :-)
