Java on Vista RTM?

I can find no indication of Sun Java on my Vista RTM. Is it included, or
does it need to be added?

Re: Java on Vista RTM?

You will need to download it from the Sun Java site and install it on Vista.

I'm totally perplexed that the lack of technical know-how/knowledge by
so many in this group in this group. I'd expect it from the
windowsxp.general group, but I guess I figured that anyone using Vista
before it's official release was technically savvy to some degree.

Coming up next:

"Where is QuickTime and RealPlayer?"

The guy asked a fair question, and even had the decency of thanking those

His question prompted a general observation. I wasn't singling him out.

Some people named Scott are jerks.

That's just a general observation.

Java used to come with Windows and not everyone's heard of the lawsuit
so the question wasn't dumb at all.

The Microsoft JVM. Not the Sun JVM. He specified *Sun Java*

Re: Java on Vista RTM?

Thanks for the criticism, Scott. I appreciate that. It helps remind me
that I don't know everything and sometimes ask dumb questions. In the
past, I had been used to MS JVM coming with Windows, but, knowing that
it was no longer, and that Sun was now the preferred java, I wasn't sure
if it was included or if Windows just came javaless now. I didn't know,
so I was stupid enough to ask. I'm just a hopeless case, I guess.
