Denied access to SQL Express database files

I've installed Windows Vista Ultimate RTM. When trying to run/copy/and set
security attributes to certain sql server files I get access denied. Windows
displays my account as a admin account. When trying to run a website using
these sql server files I get the same message. No access. These worked great
with Windows XP a week ago.

Any suggestions?

Stig

Re: Denied access to SQL Express database files

You can try taking ownership of the files and then changing the permissions
on them. You might need to boot to Safe Mode and log on as Administrator.

Re: Denied access to SQL Express database files

You have to right click on the files and Properties | Security and then
fiddle there.

Re: Denied access to SQL Express database files

I've done this and this doesnt change anything. It is only sql server
express db files that have this problem.

There is a known compatibility issue with SQL Server Express SP1. You will
likely need to install the SP2 beta.
