| Re: Slow boot. It seems that your system is running memory test. On some BIOS's there is option to run quick POST (Power On Self Test) with less detailed RAM test. There is also option (on some BIOS's), when you hit tab key during the boot, you may see POST progress. This may help you in diagnosing your system's behavior.
