| IE8 Install but I can not log-in after Hi, After I installed IE8, which I downloaded from the Microsoft website, it requires me to login to some community, so I filled in the username, password and e-mail adress, I even checked the I AGREE checkbox, when I click on the submit button I get straight back to the same page. I notice just above the I AGREE checkbox and subit button a square with weird looking wavy lines, is there something that I am suppose to do with this square -- Thank You in Advance Merci a l'avance Martin |

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LOG IN TO ANY "COMMUNITY" TO USE IE8. If you are getting that response, then you did not get IE8 from an authorized/clean source, and should uninstall it, run recognised malware cleaning tools, and then reinstall IE8 from the Microsoft download site (or from Windows Updates, where it is available now) -- Noel Paton www.crashfixpc.co.uk Nil Carborundum Illegitemi |

You're not supposed to copy the wavy lines. You're supposed to see several letters and numbers superposed on those lines or partially hidden by them, and what you're supposed to do is type those letters and numbers. NB: they are case sensitive. It's a sort of password, and it's supposed to defeat "bots", robots that sneak into such sites. In fact, it amounts to a Turing Test. If you can't see the letters, then you have a problem with your monitor or browser color settings. -- Gene E. Bloch letters0x40blochg0x2Ecom |

What does this dialog box say EXACTLY. Describe the header text exactly. Quote the text EXACTLY word for word. Better still , take a snapshot of your desktop with this box showing and upload it to a file sharing site so that we can see it. |
