| Corrupt Win 7.ISO Download? I just tried three times to download the Windows 7 .ISO beta through the Download Manager. I only succeeded once and when I finally got it down it seemed there was a corrupt image. Does anybody have a clean link to the image? I'm anxious to try it out in my VirtualBox . Thanks. Ross |

| Re: Corrupt Win 7.ISO Download? Which one? The original beta (build 7000) is no longer available. The RC release is only available to Technet and MSDN subscribers now. It will be available to the public on Tuesday May 5. Build 7100 (RC) is available via torrents, if you get the correct one. -- Windows 7 beta http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview http://download.live.com/wlmail "ross m. greenberg" <greenber@******.com> wrote in message news:63B47179-F3ED-4F7D-AD14-8C20EDE457D2@microsoft.com... > I just tried three times to download the Windows 7 .ISO beta through the > Download Manager. You have to start all over because the file changed or you can't save it when it's done. Never have trouble with Linux .iso's. |

| Re: Corrupt Win 7.ISO Download? Be certain that the download has actually finished when using the FTM. It should be identified as completed. When the file is at 100% it is not necessarily completed. The file is then verified, which takes a few extra minutes. If you close the FTM too early and try to burn the .iso file to a disk you may have problems as the verification was not completed. -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "ross m. greenberg" <greenber@******.com> wrote in message news:63B47179-F3ED-4F7D-AD14-8C20EDE457D2@microsoft.com... >I just tried three times to download the Windows 7 .ISO beta through the >Download Manager. It just my luck that is no longer available! Sigh. That seems to be the story of my life. :-) Ross |

| Re: Corrupt Win 7.ISO Download? I take it that this is the Microsoft download manager? I downloaded Windows 7 RC on the 30 April and didn't have any problem. Unless you have an error message you wouldn't know whether the ISO file was corrupt until you physically burnt it to media. One thing that usually happens is that the ISO is burnt too rapidly and this can cause problems. See if you can change the burn setting of your CD/DVD burn software to X2 and see if that makes any difference. -- John Barnett MVP Windows XP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk Web: http://www.silversurfer-guide.com Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". | Re: Corrupt Win 7.ISO Download? Ross where are you downloading it from? If it is a 'torrent' site then that is probably why you are having problems, no one knows what 'add nuisances' torrent sites add to the original ISO. The torrent downloads are leaked illegal copies anyway and we do not offer support for such leaked copies. -- John Barnett MVP Windows XP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk Web: http://www.silversurfer-guide.com Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". On April 30th, the RC became available to MSDN subscribers and TechNet Plus subscribers. - On Tuesday, May 5 (PST), the RC will be available to everyone via our Customer Preview Program. As with the Beta, the Windows 7 RC Customer Preview Program is a broad public program that offers the RC free to anyone who wants to download it. It will be available at least through June 30, 2009, with no limits on the number of downloads or product keys available. So you don't need rush to make sure you get your copy. When you're ready to download the RC, it'll be waiting for you. To get the RC please use one of the following links: - Developers - IT Pros/Microsoft Partners - Tech Enthusiasts/Consumers |

Remember Ubuntu is FREE and NOBODY wants it. Ubuntu is on less than one percent of the desktops out there. People would rather pay for Microsoft products than use a FREE INFERIOR OS called Ubuntu. |

As far as burning is concerned, Ubuntu is FAR superior to Windows and Nero. It's quicker and much more efficient in regards to burning speed. Course, how would you know when all you can do is flail around with your FUD and lies? Alias |
