DVD drive is not working

When I insert a CD or a DVD, and double-click the disc drive in Windows
Explorer after you insert the disc, the following error message:
Insert disk
Please insert a disk into Drive (DriveLetter:).

As you said I select click on Control panel - sound - show disabeld devices
and enabled . Still that problem exist. Please let me know to solve this
problem .

With thanks and regards

Double check the cables and if they're good then try the DVD-player in
a different computer.
Is it IDE or SaTA?

Then do what Gert already suggested - pull the drive and test it in another
system. If it still won't work, replace it. Another way to test it if you
don't have another computer in which to use it is to boot with a boot CD
like a Linux Live CD or even a Windows XP install CD. If the drive won't
read that bootable CD, it is definitely dead and should be replaced.
