| Antivirus software for Windows Vista Can someone suggest a good antivirus program for Windows Vista? It is VERY important that the antivirus program does not consume a lot of system resources and slow down the computer like Norton- or Norman Antivirus does. I also did read the post below but did'nt get any clear suggestion here: http://www.hd720i.com/free-edition-anti-virus-programs-156719.aspx |

Please tell us the version of the application you are asking about, your OS, Service Pack level and the FULL contents of any error message(s) |

| Re: Antivirus software for Windows Vista Norton 360 ver 3 or NIS 2009 versions have far better performance than previous versions. http://www.symantec.com/norton360/about/index.jsp You may want to consider downloading and testing the trial version of 360: http://shop.symantecstore.com/store/symnahho/en_US/ContentTheme/ThemeID.106300/pbPage.Trialware_en_US?resid=8bXvRwoBAkcAAGqzS44AAAAF&rests=1240592473586 and if you like it check Frys.com (check rebate terms) for how to buy a 3 PC version for under $15.00 http://shop2.frys.com/product/5881093;jsessionid=u77wxPMhG-74AIbTd+asKg**.node1?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG -- JS http://www.pagestart.com "Jane A Taber" <jane@taber.com> wrote in message news:%23L2CphPxJHA.496@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Can someone suggest a good antivirus program for Windows Vista? > > It is VERY important that the antivirus program does not consume a lot of > system resources and slow down the computer like Norton- or Norman > Antivirus does. > > I also did read the post below but did'nt get any clear suggestion here: > http://www.hd720i.com/free-edition-anti-virus-programs-156719.aspx |

| Re: Antivirus software for Windows Vista I've used the free version of AVG and Avast and found them both to be good at their job. AVG does, however, have a much more user friendly interface. As Planters has already suggested NOD32 is also a good all rounder. I'm currently running Eset's Smart Security which includes NOD32 on my Windows 7 system partition. -- -- John Barnett MVP Windows XP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org Web: http://www.silversurfer-guide.com The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is". From that time I decided not to use Norton ever unless it got alot less resource hungry. Soo I am not sure if I want to try Norton yet... |
