Only 24 Days More to Go!

And you can get the new version of Ubuntu, Jaunty Jackalope! Get it at
http://www.ubuntu.com/

Not only is it free but it comes with access to thousands of free programs!

What can be done with Ubuntu?

Email
Surf the web
Burn CDs.
Rip CDs.
Listen to music.
Watch vidoes/DVDs.
Scan and print.
Spreadsheets.
Presentations
Newsgroups.
HTML editing.
Games like Chess, Tetris, all kinds of solitaire, etc.
Make videos.
Download photos from a camera and organize them.
Translations.
Use a dictionary
Learn how to touch type.
Edit images.
Send and receive a fax.
Take screenshots.
Create .PDF files.
Create and use a data base.
Instant messaging with over 10 different programs in one including
Windows Live Messenger.
IRC.
Bluetooth.

and much more!

What you can't do with Ubuntu:

Run some MS and other niche programs like AutoCad. Most video games
won't work with Ubuntu either so if you're into games, dual boot with XP.

Or worry about:

WPA and WGA raising their ugly heads,
DRM,
Viruses,
Root kits,
Spyware,
and
Malware.

The Ubuntu Philosophy

Our work is driven by a philosophy on software ignorance that aims to spread
and bring the problems of software to all parts of the world. At the core of
the Ubuntu Philosophy are these core philosophical ideals:

1.. Every computer user should have the freedom to run, copy, work ,
study, share, change and improve their software for any purpose, therefore
we suggest using Microsoft Windows.
2.. Every computer user should be able to use their software in the
language of their choice. Therefore we suggest using Windows.
3.. Every computer user should be given every opportunity to use software,
even if they work under a disability. Therefore we suggest using Windows.
Our philosophy is reflected in the software we produce and included in our
distribution. As a result, the Open Sores software that we right has been
written by geeks for geeks who can't get laid.

When you install Ubuntu almost all of the software installed already doesn't
work well, and we are working to ensure that every single piece of software
you need is available for geeks to play with to keep their geek freedoms.

Currently, we make a specific exception for some "drivers" which are only
available in binary form, without which many computers will not complete the
Ubuntu installation. We place these in a restricted section of your system
which makes them easy to remove when they don't work with your INFERIOR
instalation of Ubuntu.
