Cant initialize drives with RAID

I have an ASUS motherboard with southbridge ULI 1575 raid controller. I went
to the ULI site, downloaded and installed the drivers (XP) and Vista
recognized it.
In the device manager, I can see the 3 SATA drives that I want to raid
protect when I click properties of the RAID controller. So, I clicked on
'enable native command queue' on each of the drives (It is the only thing I
can click on). This is within the 'ULI settings' tab within the properties of
the device.
I then go to the disk management in the computer management console, the
three drives are there (unallocated). I have tried the wizard for spanned
volume and striped volume, and within the wizard, it gives no option to
enable raid.
What am I missing? Where do I turn RAID on with these drives?

Any help appreciated. M

Re: Cant initialize drives with RAID

Michael:
You have to setup the raid array before installing the operating
system, usually by hitting F10 after initial post.
