IE 8 too slow / wish to revert to IE 7

I have have continuous slow response in loading of web pages since install
IE 8.

Am running on a 5 meg internet connection and at times loading a simple
Amazon page will take 85 seconds. Totally unacceptable when it was
instantious with IE 7.

How do I return to IE 7 as attempts to do so thru MS site informs me of a 2
hr plus download?

Many thanks for your time and hopefully reply.

If you look in 'programs and features' 'Installed updates' uou should see a
recent 'Windows Internet Explorer 8' entry ,uninstall that entry.

The OP reported back that it worked.

"In Windows Vista, Windows Internet Explorer 8 is not considered to be
a program. Instead, IE8 is categorizing as an update. Thus, you might
not be able to find Windows Internet Explorer 8 in Programs and
Features of Windows Vista.

To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, go to Control Panel, and click on
Uninstall Programs link or Programs and Features icon. Then on Tasks
pane on the left, click on View installed updates link. Locate and
select Windows Internet Explorer 8 in the list of installed updates,
and then click on Uninstall button. Click on Yes when asked that are
you sure want to uninstall the update. Restart the computer."

Re: IE 8 too slow / wish to revert to IE 7

Hey Drybones,
Had the same problem. IE8 was horribly slow and often timed out. I went
back to a system restore point before the update was downloaded and now
I'm back on IE7 and running fine. If you haven't had it too long you may
be able to do the same. Keep in mind you may loose other stuff you have
recently installed or get back something you have gotten rid of
depending on how far back you go.
