If you had locked your computer, you would get the Welcome Screen when you turned in on. Do you get any of the information shown on the screen during the POST setup? I suspect you have hardware problems. Start with checking all of the cables to the monitor for a loose connection. Make sure the monitor is getting power. Try the monitor on another computer or try another monitor (got a friend you can swap with for a short period?). If all else fails, take it to a technician (not a big box store like BestBuy). |

Otherwise you might have to deal with incompatible settings (i.e., unreadable picture or parts of the picture being displayed off-screen).
