| Re: BSOD 7B Hi, Yep, it means an inaccessible boot device. While the drive may be ok, the file system may be corrupt. | Re: BSOD 7B Hi Rick, Thanks for the quick reply. I had a look at the KB. System's IDE cables were exchanged - Problem persists. Other Notes on the system: System's AV was up to date prior to the start of the issue (Server Logs Confirm) [System is in a controlled environment - i.e. I am the only user with access] System does not carry a Dual Boot configuration. System was running Vista without hic-ups for about 9Mths Rescue envionment does see the Windows installation (IDE) Questions: CHKDSK does not fix the errors. Is there another way? Can the disk be inserted and scanned as secondary without changing MRB info? Any other suggestions will be welcome. | Re: BSOD 7B Hi, > CHKDSK does not fix the errors. Is there another way? If the file system is corrupt, the most you can hope for is to get data recovered from the drive. > Can the disk be inserted and scanned as secondary without changing MRB > info? You mean MBR? Yes. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "StephanHeine" <StephanHeine@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C06FA81A-E746-470F-A75A-5131278577BB@microsoft.com... > Hi Rick, > > Thanks for the quick reply. > > I had a look at the KB. > > System's IDE cables were exchanged - Problem persists. > > Other Notes on the system: > System's AV was up to date prior to the start of the issue (Server Logs > Confirm) > [System is in a controlled environment - i.e. I am the only user with > access] > System does not carry a Dual Boot configuration. > System was running Vista without hic-ups for about 9Mths > Rescue envionment does see the Windows installation (IDE) > > Questions: > CHKDSK does not fix the errors.
