| Strange icon behavior I create a Desktop shortcut to a website and assign a special icon to it. When I then move the shortcut into a folder on the desktop (which already contains other shortcuts), the assigned icon changes to a generic icon inside the folder. If I move the shortcut back onto the desktop, the assigned icon reverts back. What is going on here? How can I keep the same icon that is on the desktop shortcut when moving the shortcut into a folder? Thanks for any clues, ideas, etc. George |

| Re: Strange icon behavior Icon's path must be absolute....you can move shortcut everywhere... You should clear icon cache by deleting *iconcache.db* located under *C:\Users\\AppData\Local * make sure you enabled Show system hidden files. -- Ramesh MVP RAMESH KUMAR Microsoft MVP: 'My MVP Profile' (https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Ramesh.Kumar) My Blog: 'It's My Windows' (http://itsmywindows.com) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ramesh MVP's Profile: http://winvistaclub.com/forum/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://winvistaclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20385 |
