Shortcut on desktop to conect to wireless router

My Dad & I recently got a laptop. He has a wireless router. Tonight, we
figured out how to connect our laptops to his router. Can I create a shortcut
on the Desktop to connect to his wireless router? I have Vista Home Premium.
Now I have to click on Start > Connect To > router name. Is it possible to
create a shortcut?

Thank you.
David

Re: Shortcut on desktop to conect to wireless router

Hi,

No, but generally connections are retained in the wireless network settings
and should be "remembered" by the laptop when it encounters the same
wireless network.

If you open the Control Panel/Network and Sharing Center, then click the
link in the left column to "manage wireless networks", you should see a list
of the ones you are set to connect to.

Re: Shortcut on desktop to conect to wireless router

Hi David.
I think you might want the one step better and have it connect automatically
when in range?
If so.
Start
Control Panel
Network and Internet
Network and Sharing Center
look on the left and click on
Manage wireless networks
Double click the wireless connection and choose the
Connect automatically when this network is in range.

If that is not what you would rather do.
You can look on the left side of the
Newtork and Sharing Center
and click
Manage Network Connections
then right click the wireless connection and choose
create shortcut.
It will make it on the desktop.
But I am very lazy so I like the other way best of course.
