| Random vista freezes or crashes First if this is in the wrong forum please move it. Second My computer will randomly freeze or crash when I am doing anything including nothing. I have a compaq sr2010nx with a xfx geforce 8600 xxx with 1.25 gb of ram It still happens when I disable all non microsoft services and startup software. I ran memtest and there were no errors. It is also not a virus and it runs fine in safe mode. Any Ideas? -- Wolfhunter3 Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

If this is an OEM computer, contact the OEM's tech support for repair/replacement. If this is a home-built machine, start doing more comprehensive testing. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot Standard disclaimer: I can't see and test your computer myself, so these are just suggestions based on many years of being a professional computer tech; suggestions based on what you've written. You should not take my suggestions as a definitive diagnosis. If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |
