My Documents Folder unavailable

Location is not available- C:\Documents and Settings\my name\My Documents
refer to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this
computer, or on a network.

All my documents are gone.!!
Please Help Me!

In general your documents are located at:
C:\users\your name\documents

That path is a relic of past versions of Windows, and are used to help setup
apps find the actual Vista folders. You are looking for C:\Users\...

Click Start, and type %userprofile%
and hit enter.

Vista uses a different file structure than XP does/did. Those familiar
folder
names you may be used to, like "My Documents", "Documents & Settings", etc.
are not folders in Vista. They are junction points, and are used for legacy
programs which were written to utilize the XP file structure. They will
redirect the programs to use the equivalent Vista folders.
If you keep the protected operating system files hidden, you won't see them.

In Vista......
Documents & Settings -> \Users
My Documents -> \Users\youraccount\Documents
My Music -> \Users\youraccount\Music
Application Data -> \Users\youraccount\AppData
etc.

They are in C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents
