Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 can't resume from hibernation

Resuming from an hibernation, after the bootstrap, loading the drivers
and main components Vista stops to load hanging, screen and progress
bar are freezed. The only thing I can do is to shut down, change
something in the bios (anything), delete the hibernation data, and
Vista starts. I can't resume from hibernation successfully.

Note:
the usb mouse turn off just before the OS stop and doesn't turn on
when the system boot correcly the mouse shut down and up again in few
sec

Motherboard: Asus P5K64 Socket 775 Bios 0609
Processor: Intel E6420
Video Card: ATI Radeon 3850 driver ver 8.5
Operative System: Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit

Thxs,

Daniele

Re: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 can't resume from hibernation

This issue occurs when the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store contains
incorrect information for the Resume from Hibernate entry and it can be
fixed via following these steps.

1) Run cmd(Command Prompt) as Administrator and type "bcdedit -enum
all" without quote. It displays all identifiers that are used to make
desire function in BCD (boot configuration data).

2) Look for "Resume from Hibernate" segment and copy its identifier
like: {xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}

3) Now at the end, type the following command "bcdedit /deletevalue
{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} inherit" without quote.

After all that Vista SP1 will no longer shut down unexpectedly instead
of resuming from hibernation.
