What software and versions were you using?

Nero 8 and Cyberlink Power2Go 6 both work with Vista..

Re: dvd burning software

I prefer NERO 8.3.6 (that's the latest version)

Nero 7 and below had many problems with vista.. or should I say vista was
the real problem.

but there is a free alternative compatible with crapista... errr I mean
vista

here www.cdburnerxp.se

I repeat, it works with vista too

Seems to me like a basic utility that should be included with the
operating system.

Both the two major players Roxio and Nero work well enough with Vista
IF you get the versions designed for Vista. XP versions don't work
well if at all with Vista for several reasons. I've used Roxio Easy
Media Creator 9 to create hundreds of custom DVD's. Having both of
these on the same computer often causes problems. They don't get along
well together and conflict with each other.

I hope you're not confusing DVD Authoring, with DVD Burning. Two
separate tasks. For anything beyond very basic authoring neither Roxio
or Nero are very acceptable in they are both crude and limited.
However, like I said both easily manage the actual "burning" of a DVD
or CD. So again does lots of shareware and even a few freeware
products. The key is BE SURE whatever you pick was designed for Vista.

If you just want to burn CDs and DVDs ImgBurn is all you need. I works
great in Vista and is very simply to use. This is not a Roxil/Nero
alternative, just a very good burner without the bloat.

Oh, and it's free! :)

Not true... all the 7.x series was infested with a multitude of vista
compatibilities problems...

Liar! That you are not able to get it to run properly is no surprise.
You don't know what your doing. You're technically incompetent, as we
all know.
Your incompetence makes you angry & hateful.
Best you just get lost as we all know you're a real loser.

If you make your own videos or do extensive editing of commercial
videos for playback then place them on DVDs one of the best and
affordable Video Editing/DVD Authoring tools is simply called Vegas,
produced by a division of Sony located in Madison Wisconsin.

Even their entry level watered down version (Movie Studio) is far
smarter, better than most anything out there and it is rock solid
stable...even under Vista. ;-) I've used the pro version for years.

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...egasfamily.asp

It is a full package that does the editing, and DVD Authoring
including support for Chapters and multiple motion menus. Priced at
about the same as Nero or Roxio and offers way more useful features.
