Upgarde to Vista Ultimate from Home with new License key?

I have different problem
Currently running Vista Home Premium on my HP desktop (pre-insatlled) and I
purchased Vista Ultimate (new and not upgrade).
When I try to Install Vista Ultimate, the License key does not allow upgrade
but only fresh install!
Any ideas to upgrade?

Did you purchase an OEM version of Vista Ultimate?
If you did, it only permits a "clean install".

If it is not an OEM disk, you do the upgrade from within your running Vista
Home Premium; NOT booting from the ultimate disk(that is for clean install).

Carey, the dvd in the OEM packs is a straight Vista dvd. I have tested the
upgrade functionality and successfully upgrade XP Home to Vista Home Premium
using the OEM dvd and the OEM product key.

Start Setup from existing Windows, not by booting the computer with the dvd.

It doesn't matter if it is an OEM pack dvd. Those will perform upgrades in
place also. They have to because there is no repair install in Vista.
