| Cannot see Volume Control status, hurting my ears! Hi, is there anyway to set Vista so that when I click my "up and down" keys to adjust sound level that I can acutally see some kind of bar graph on screen before I get my ears blown off again? Windows XP had a graph that you can set to appear on screen so that if you hit the up or down arrow you could see a visual. Does Vista have such a setting? thanks, Catt |

For a Dell keyboard, you'd go to Dell and search by PC model etc. JW |

| Re: Cannot see Volume Control status, hurting my ears! Catt, Win+X This will bring up the "Windows Mobility Center" where you can easily adjust the speaker volume and much more. Win is the "Windows" key. On most keyboards, you find the Win key to the left of the left ALT key. The WIN key has a "waving Windows flag" on it. Launchpad or something - I have an Acer laptop, but I must admit, I didn't bother to install that again? But, yes, one of the downloads on the Acer site will hopefully replace what you are used to. Thanks John |

| Re: Cannot see Volume Control status, hurting my ears! Thanks to Snooks and Mr. Ferguson, but what about an icon that I can have on desktop or in taskbar that I can access quickly without having to open a screen and type sndvol? Isn't there a shortcut for all this? "Mark L. | Re: Cannot see Volume Control status, hurting my ears! Rightclick your desktop, New, Shortcut, put in the command sndvol, name it Sound Control or whatever you want, and OK. You could drop this on start, pin it to start, or put it in QuickLaunch. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...help_en-us.htm Use the "Ratings" feature.
