| [OT] Ubuntu 8.04 users at risk: still no updates for Firefox 3 Ubuntu 8.04 has Firefox 3 as the default browser. On July 16, 2008 Mozilla released Firefox 3.0.1 that fixes a lot of critical security flaws. But at current date, there're no updates for Firefox 3 for Ubuntu 8.04. 'Check for updates' button is also disabled in Firefox. Still no updates for Firefox 3 in Ubuntu Update Manager. Does Ubuntu security suck!      |

However, one can use alternatives if desired while waiting for the update, and for those that might not be so patient, it is available for manual install. -- norm |

I suspect 3.0.1 will be available tomorrow for Ubuntu. Alias |
