| Losing Restore Points I run Vista 64bit SP1 with all the latest updates and I am losing restore points. If I check for restore points it tells me there are none and even if I manually create a restore point it is gone if I want to restore. I do have plenty of space on the hard drives and I have searched to see if there is an option somewhere that I need to set. It is a nice feature when testing new programs or drivers and I would like to get it back. Ahyone know what is going on here? Thanks, Al |

I used to lose my WinXP restore points as well, but SP-3 seemed to fix that for XP. net |

Many also will not support their products if you add a second OS. |

| Re: Losing Restore Points No, there's no built-in dual boot on any computer (that I've heard of). If you want to do this, you'll have to install the second operating system. And you'll have to have a license for both. It's easiest to do this if you have XP installed first, then install Vista. -- Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "silver hair" <silverhair@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B8D8A5EC-60B4-487E-8006-223459E9B53F@microsoft.com... > hi, just a comment > everybody talks about dual boot in vista > is there a dual boot build in, > in a Factory installed Vista computer? > With XP some where in there? > > > > -- > lucky me I guess > > > "Colin Barnhorst" wrote: > >> "NetLink_Blue" <PcjTv@cooltoad.com> wrote in message >> news:OdpJjYc6IHA.2060@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >> > >> > "Alfred Kaufmann" <al_kaufmann********.com> wrote in message >> > news:mi24845i206b7q4v442k465o087ic4ffum@4ax.com... >> >>I run Vista 64bit SP1 with all the latest updates and I am losing >> >> restore points. Not even close. The number of those who dual boot, or who talk about dual-booting is insignificantly small. The great majority of people who run Vista don't dual boot or even know that there's such a thing as dual booting. I read someplace that the number of users who dual boot is only a tiny fraction of one percent of the base. And that number is dropping as more and more users are using virtualization programs like Virtual PC and VMWare instead. |
