Cant find aero on list

Hello All,

Vista ultimate

I have a p4 2.40 GHz

I installed 1 Gig of ram

I installed an ATI X1600 Directx 10 with 512MB

I can't find Windows Aero on the list in step 2
1.. A window will appear, with a list of available themes in a drop-down
menu, with corresponding illustrations below. The setting should be on
"Vista Basic" as default.
2.. In the drop-down menu there is an option for "Windows Aero"
3.. Click it, then select Apply then OK and you're computer will be
configured to Windows Vista Aero.
Thanks

Tony

Re: Cant find aero on list

If you have Vista Basic edition, then you don't have the Aero feature, or
any associated themes, I would have thought.

As it says : Vista Basic, is minus all the bells and whistles.

Aero's only available in the Ultimate and Premium editions, I think.

Did you install the drivers for that video card? You need to get them from
ATI.

Also, Vista is going to be quite slow with only 1GB of RAM, although that
doesn't address why you have no Aero. Increase to at least 2GB if you can.
