| Using Easy Transfer I have an old computer with (XP SP3) and I am attempting to transfer files over to my new laptop with Windows Vista Home. Easy Transfer is installed on old computer, after I start the program amd click "Next" the program stops running and I have to "end task" in Windows Task Manager. I tried deleting and reinstalling twice, same result. Any suggestions? |

| Re: Using Easy Transfer Is the WET running on the old computer a download version? If so, uninstall and empty your temp internet files, then download a fresh copy and install again. I have used WET with XP SP3 with no issues so it is not the service pack. Try clean booting the old computer to see if a third party program, in particular an AV program is interfering. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353 "Bert" <Bert@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:23C8E938-C114-436C-891E-6E9613E9482D@microsoft.com... >I have an old computer with (XP SP3) and I am attempting to transfer files > over to my new laptop with Windows Vista Home. | RE: Using Easy Transfer I'm not trying to be a wiseguy here, but I've always found it faster to transfer files from/to my XP computer to/from my Vista computer using an external USB HD or memory stick. It's not as clever but I don't waste a minute trying to get Easy Transfer to work properly. Just this afternoon I used a memory stick to transfer my IE bookmarks from one computer to the next. It was a very easy transfer. oscar ;) "Bert" wrote: > I have an old computer with (XP SP3) and I am attempting to transfer files > over to my new laptop with Windows Vista Home.
