Intel Screen rotation Hotkey triggers when Excel 2003 closes

I just upgraded a Lenovo 6075-DNU ThinkCentre desktop from XP Pro to Vista
Business SP1.

The bizarre thing is, when I close Excel 2003, the "90 degree rotation" from
the onboard Intel Video driver is triggered and the screen rotates.

If I go into the driver settings and disable the 90 degree turn hotkey, the
issue goes away.

My concern is why this even happens. I've tried the latest driver from
Lenovo and from Intel and repaired the office install and no change.

This only happens from Excel, not from Word or any other program and only
since the Vista Business sp1 upgrade.

Any ideas?

RE: Intel Screen rotation Hotkey triggers when Excel 2003 closes

PS: this is the Intel Q35 video chipset, using driver 7.15.10.1472 from
intel's site.

Re: Intel Screen rotation Hotkey triggers when Excel 2003 closes

Rgoff,
Screen Rotation

RtClk on the Desktop » Graphic Options » Rotation » Normal

Method 2
Ctl+Alt+UpArr This works if graphic shortcut keys are enabled.

Method 3
Start » type IGfxCpl.Cpl » select Display Settings » checkmark Enable Rotation » select 0° » Apply button » OK button

After correcting the orientation, then to avoid a repeat of an undesired rotation change, go back to the Intel Graphic control panel and uncheckmark Enable Rotation and/or uncheckmark Enable Hot Keys under the Hot Keys dialog

+++++++++++++++
Be sure to clear the checkmark by Enable Rotation

Re: Intel Screen rotation Hotkey triggers when Excel 2003 closes

Hi Karl

I have allready disabled the hotkey as a workaround. My question is, is
there a permenant fix? Is this an issue with the Intel Driver or is it a
Microsoft Office issue?

Basically what it comes down to, is I'm trying to find out what we can do to
permenantly fix this and what caused it.

I really would like to know why closing Excel would trigger the
CTRL-ALT-Left hotkey.

Has anyone else heard of this issue or a permenant fix? Or perhaps other
ways to find out why this is happening?
