| Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working Hi, Basically when I open any folders on my Laptop that contain video files (the ones I have are .MPG videos... I get the error message pop up: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working. Sometimes 1 box opens... sometimes it's 10, getting annoying now. Oh and by the way, I don't have nero on my Laptop and never have. I have done searches on the net for a solution for this problem, but all the solutions involve nero, which I don't have. -- Chrystal |

When an error message box normally pops up for something else you get the choice to report the problem... in the Windows hose process (Rundll32) has stopped working box, I don't get any option like that. To be honest, I don't really recall seeing any of these on my Vista comp... only on my XP ones. Or am I getting the wrong idea here? -- Chrystal |

| Re: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working This probably means that you need to start the wer service (windows error reporting).Type `Services` in the instant-search box of the start menu in vista and click on the name of the program found.On-screen instructions will show you how to start the service. | Re: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working What are the specific details for that crash according to the Problem Reports and Solutions Center control panel? | Re: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working Zoloft, I tried it... and it didn't work. Hiren, I don't think I get what you mean. I typed "serivces" in the start/search box and then clicked on the Services icon that came up in the list... it then opens up a list of programs etc... what do I do then? -- Chrystal |

| Re: Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working Yes,you went to the correct program. Now,in order to start the wer service (windows error reporting),first scroll down through the list of services (sorted alphabetically) and look for `Windows Error Reporting service`.From the `Action` menu, click `start`.The next time when you see the error, report it.
