Windows Vista Freeze problem

I've been having a freezing problem with my HP Pavilion dv9000 for a
number of months now. Occasionally (sometimes 10 times a day,
sometimes twice a month) all programs just stop responding for about 20
seconds, then everything freezes, then the screen turns to a number of
variations on a grey screen with little horizontal black lines through
it. Nothing can be done and the computer must be hard restarted. Anyone
ever seen this before?

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz
2 MB RAM
NVIDIA MCP67M

I can't believe you've put up with this for months! It sounds like a fault
with your video card. If this is a laptop, contact HP tech support for
repair/replacement since you can't fix this yourself.
