The user's manual for your Toshiba Satellite is in a *.pdf file stored
on the machine someplace. When you brought the machine home, there was
a shortcut to it on the desktop. The information will be in there.

Of course, you can also pop the current battery out and see what model
number is printed on it. (Make sure the machine is shut down or
hibernated. Don't pop the battery while it's asleep!)

For a longer lasting battery, first look in the user's manual, they ma
very well have the information there. If not there, then try Toshiba's
web site. If still no joy, try Google.
