System Mechanic 6

I intended to take advantage of the free System Mechanic 6. When I go to
install it a warning window appears saying that there are compatibility
issues with my system. I am running Vista Home Premium SP1 32 bit. Has
anyone had experience with installing this program in Vista and if so does
it work OK?

Thanks to anyone who may answer!

Bob

I would never run the software on any of my computers. You're asking
for trouble and it's only a matter of time before you have problems. I hope
you don't have any problems but based upon personal experience I'm sure you
will. I had to learn the hard way several years ago. I researched this type
of product before using them but disregarded the warnings because I thought
I 'knew more' than those giving the warnings. Of course, I was wrong and
they were right.
I decided to check out some reviews of the latest edition anyway just
to see what people are saying about it. These comments are copied verbatim
although I did correct 'some' of the spelling and I did in fact select some
of these individual statements from within a review without quoting the
entire review. If you want the actual links for this information you will
find them at the end of this post. In all fairness, I will state that there
were some positive user reviews but I consider these to be made by
inexperienced users who simply haven't been hit with the problems yet.
Personal opinion only, mind you.

It deletes very important dlls when it "cleans" your system which in
turn makes for a very unstable operating system.
The support is a joke!....the most maintenance programs is the same!
Also, even though I have the options turned off, I'll be working on
something and version 7 would start to defrag or something, which would
really slow things to a halt.
it is slow, when i try updated my virus scanner said trojan, it slows
down your pc, i will take it back get my money back right now
I've been trying almost every version since the early 2000's. It seems
that every incarnation never fails to screw with Windows. Ironic that people
use this to *maintain" Windows.
It is wipe out one of my programs
There customer service is totaly unacceptable, it takes them three
weeks to respond to requests. I currently have multiple open tech tickets
with them but they don't answer except to send an automated email with
instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall. Installs background services
that choke your PC's performance.
Some important features do not work with Vista. Customer Service/Tech
Support is extremely poor, don't expect any response other than an automated
email pointing you to irrelevant FAQs. Spyware tool shows false-positives
with no easy way to notify somebody about those false-positive
But the worst habit was its constant report of low memory and system
resources, when it was really the source of these problems. So I gave IT the
boot, and uninstalled it. My system feels much better now.
Besides, I found out that the internet optimizer slowed my DSL
connection.
Caused more problems than it ever solved. Most functions are slow and
slow down computer. At times caused PC to lock up. Almost impossible to
uninstall. It is almost like a virus.
DON'T BUY THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE SEVERAL HOURS AND END UP
REBUILDING YOUR PC (I HAD TO RE_FORMAT MY HARD DISK AND RE_INSTALL WINDOWS).
These are usually time-consuming tests to run and are not always
accurate; even after we turned them off, the executables for those tests
continued to run in the background, slowing down application loading.
Although the More Info link instructed us to click View Details for an
itemized list and the reasons to remove them, there was nothing to click.

http://computershopper.com.com/utility-suites/system-mechanic-6-professional/4505-3690_7-31647155.html

Again, I hope you don't experience any of the problems listed in these
reviews.
