| Microsoft Narrator on Startup I've been having this problem for about a month or so now and it is driving me crazy! I am running Vista x64 Ultimate and whenever I boot up my PC and appear at the login screen, after 5 seconds or so of inactivity Microsoft Narrator starts up. I have tried unticking the ease of access checkbox accessible on the bottom left of the login screen and also unticking the 'Turn on Narrator' checkbox under Control Panel > Ease of Access Center and saving my changes, but Narrator still insists on starting up at the login screen every time I start my PC. After logging in Narrator becomes inactive, it is just really annoying every time I login. I also checked the startup programs in Windows Defender, and the only programs I have running are Samsung NCPro, IEE 802.11 Wireless LAN Utility, Messenger, Microsoft Userinit Logon Application, Microsoft Windows Explorer, Windows Defender and Skype. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have no idea why Vista has started doing this. Thanks, Dave. |

| RE: Microsoft Narrator on Startup Absolutely the most annoying glitch. It happens in XP or Vista. Try this-- 1.Click the Start button, click All Programs, click Accessories, click Ease of Access, and then click Ease of Access Center. 2. Under Explore all settings, click Use the computer without a display. 3. Under Hear text read aloud, clear the two check boxes for Turn on Narrator and Turn on Audio Description. 4. Click Save. 5. Restart the computer. I think Restart is the step you are skipping. "Dave" wrote: > I've been having this problem for about a month or so now and it is driving > me crazy!
