| Re: microsoft feeds syncronization has stopped working I think maybe 'restoring to factor defaults' is preferable to 'recycling' in this case. :/ Turing off all your feeds might do something. You can check the report in the Network tools. A 'reset to defaults' for the Internet Explorer might let you start fresh, and set it all up again. (IE, tools menu, Options, Advanced tab, 'reset' button) -- Was this helpful? Then click the Ratings button. Voting helps the web interface. | Re: microsoft feeds syncronization has stopped working I am getting the same error and am also unable to access hardly anything on the internet - google, gmail, yahoo etc. Firefox then crashes, internet explorer isn't any better. has anyone found a solution to this? I'm also had notions of smashing up the pc, or wiping it completely and replacing Vista with something that works reliably for more than 5 mins. I'm new to Vista and this Forum, but so far my experiences with Vista are non too positive.... I am also getting the following RunDLL error on startup, not sure if it is related. "Error loading C:\Windows\system32\hxkqfkok.dll. The specified module could not be found" I've searched and found this could be virus related, I will do a full virus scan shortly. -- cluttrell Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

| Re: microsoft feeds syncronization has stopped working same exact thing happening to me. anyone ever find the proper solution? i'm surprised i was able to access this forum even. I'd ask over at the micro****e forums but they don't seem to be working. I thought it might have has something to do with the microsoft.net framework assistant that was secretly installed as an addon in firefox recently which cannot be un-installed. -- mz3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mz3's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/102463.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/953789.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: microsoft feeds syncronization has stopped working no, I don't think it was a virus. don't know what it was. I scanned the machine thoroughly. What I did then was try to do a system restore. It was about to do it until it said I couldn't do one as something was up and I'd have to fix that first and asked whether I wanted to. I said yeah. It said well you can't do that until you restart the machine - do you want to do that? I said fine. It took about an hour and a half to scan through everything in five stages. the fourth was the longest where it scanned and fixed all files. every now and again, it would delete something or patch something. then it booted up and I haven't had a problem since. didn't even end up doing the system restore. before all of that, it kept saying 'file sychronization has stopped working' 'windows explorer has stopped working' 'looking for a solution' (to infinity) and all my programs kept crashing especially if i opened more than one. I only had chrome and firefox open. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the 'microsoft.net framework assistant' addon that was secretly installed in firefox in the last update which is impossible to uninstall and which I had just recently disabled prior to the big cock-up. I have it enabled now just in case but would love to know why micro****e want to compromise my security with a clandestine addon I can't remove. -- mz3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mz3's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/members/102463.htm View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/953789.htm http://forums.techarena.in |

You really must do better in problem-solving than you above description if you want help - there's almost nothing there to get to grips with and no detailed error messages- which are essential if anyone is to help.
