Not all program will run from Start Menu

Not all programs listed in the pinned area and recently run area of the Start
Menu will run when you click on them. This is true particularly of MS Office
programs. Some programs will run when clicked on, but not others. With
those that won't run, you have to go to "All Programs" and select them from
there. This is very annoying, because you never know which programs will
run. In Windows XP, you never had this problem. I was hoping that SP-1
would fix this, but it didn't.

Do others have this problem? Can it be fixed?

RE: Not all program will run from Start Menu

I have not had this issue. My suggestion if they work from the regular
location in the start menu remove the pinned ones from teh start menu and
re-pin them to the start menu.

Re: Not all program will run from Start Menu

I've not experienced this, nor even heard of it.
I'd remove the ones that don't start, and pin them back from the All
Programs list.

Re: Not all program will run from Start Menu

I've experienced this problem immediately after installing iTunes. I
rebooted and it went away.

RE: Not all program will run from Start Menu

I have the same problem with MS Office programs. Re-pinning doesn't help. I
have Office 2007 and 2003 installed, maybe that's a problem but I would have
thought the "pinned" program was just type of shotcut.
