My brand new HP Laptop does this weird thing now. i was playing age of
empires 3, and when i finished and exited the game, windows vista's color
scheme is gone. for example, in Internet Explorer, the thing that surrounds
the address bar and search bar used to be black for me. Now it's gone to the
Vista Basic Blue. I recently sent it in to HP's repair services for a broken
or not working display, and apparently
they replaced the motherboard... Thank God it was under warranty...

anyways, i've seen in some places that after installing a certain update
that vista deems itself not valid, but my computer doesn't. When I go to
Control Panel>Personalization>Windows Color and Appearance, it pops up the
old windows XP appearance box, not allowing me to use Windows Vista Standard
as the appearance theme. I run Vista Home Premium, but the color scheme has
reverted to Vista Basic for some reason.

I don't think it would have anything to do with the graphics card. I have an
NVIDIA GeForce 7150 Integrated Graphics card, and run a 1.80 GHz AMD Athlon
processor.

Please help! I miss my old colors...

Thanks Charlie. Not sure why it suddenly gave me the option in color schemes
for aero, but somehow it worked.
