Log-in as admin

How do I log in as an administrator? I understand, that this is some
"hidden" account, and my name, even if I set it as administrator, does
not have FULL administrator rights. So, how do I log-in as "true"
administrator, please?

Re: Log-in as admin

Administrator is a canned, unique account that is enabled/disabled by:

Administrative Tools
> Local Security Policy
> Security Settings
> Local Policies
> Security Options
> Accounts: Administrator account status
> Properties
> Enabled/Disabled

Once you have enabled it, you can Log Off and log in to it or Switch
User.

Re: Log-in as admin

Type secpol.msc into Orb > Start Search.

OR

Orb > Run, of course, assuming your Start Menu is configured to display
it.

What many refer to as what used to be the old XP Start button.

%SystemRoot%\system32\secpol.msc, where %SystemRoot% is typically
C:\Windows.

Re: Log-in as admin

Thanks That explains a lot. It also tells me why other items are not
found, It depends on the version of Vista.

Re: Log-in as admin

Turning on the Administrator account is straightforward.

First, open an elevated command prompt by typing

cmd into the Search box on the Start menu, right-clicking

the command prompt icon that appears at the top of the

Start menu, then selecting Run as administrator .

Then enter this command and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:yes

From now on, the Administrator account will appear as an

option on the Welcome screen, along with any user accounts

you may have set up. Use it like any other account. Be aware

that it won't have a password yet, so it's a good idea to set a

password for it.

If you want to disable the account and hide it, enter this

command at an elevated command prompt and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:no

AutoLogon - Start - Search - netplwiz

Highlight User Name - Uncheck Users must enter a User Name and Password

Provide Password when prompted or hit enter if no password
