Vista fiasco continues with retreat to XP

<quote>
Fall back! Fall back!
Microsoft’s announcement yesterday of the “Extended Availability of Windows
XP Home for ULCPCs” is more evidence that the Windows Vista fiasco is still
growing.

Microsoft is scrambling to stay relevant in a world where they are no longer
the only game in town. Can’t let Linux become the default OS for low-cost
systems, can we?

Cheers.

"Linux is a very complete and sophisticated operating system. And there is a
lot of work being done to improve it in and of itself, particularly to make
it easier to use and easier for people to set up on their personal
computers."

I wonder if this means that they'll finally come out with a SP3,
instead of making everyone load SP2 and then do many YEARS worth of
updates.

I did. MS has been so busy with Vista over the last 6 years that it
didn't plan for computing devices that need an OS that is flexible and
light weight, and Vista is incapable of filling that niche in an
expanding market, so MS needs to rely on an over six year old OS to
struggle to stay relevant in this expanding OS market for ULCPCs.

Oh, and the writer of the article blamed MS's chair thrower.

I am going to hold off on SP3 and let everyone else beta test it. My
reasoning is simple, what if it destablizes XP? Trying to drive users to
Vista?
