| Network icon in system tray inaccurately says it's not connected to network I'm using Vista Home Premium and Windows Update tells me I'm up to date. Every so often the Network icon in the System Tray tells me that it is not connected to a Network (by displaying a red X) though I can clearly see that I am. Glitch, common problem ... suggestions? Thanks, DH |

Thanks, DH[/color] Might be some weird glitch. I've had that happen, too. Was fine on a reboot. -- If there is a no_junk in my address, please REMOVE it before replying! It could not see our wireless network. I merely rebooted and it found it the second time through. |

This is just gitchy behavior ... and rather than spend more time on this, I'm just reporting this. Perhaps the good folks at MS can use a high pressure hose to clean out these bugs. | Re: Network icon in system tray inaccurately says it's not connected to network Restack your TCP/IP 1. Click Start. Click Run. Type cmd. Click OK. 2. On the C:/> prompt, type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt". 3. Press the Enter key. 4. Restart the computer. Note: If you're not in root, type "cd /" (without the quotation marks,) followed by the enter key to get to root. |

The connection status is updated correctly even when the connection icon incorrectly displays a red "X." "" LOL. |
