Extra CD Drive suddenly shows up on Windows Explorer

Recently an extra CD Drive as "CD Drive(G:)" has shown up on the Windows
Explorer. There are two DVD Drives[DVD Drive(X:) and DVD Drive(Y:)] and
they are still shown as used to be but I have never added the third one.

Disk Management shows only those two DVD drives and not the CD drive.
How can I get rid of the CD Drive from the Windows Explorer?

Did you install any applications like Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% that use
Virtual Drives?

Have you inserted a USB drive by any chance? I know my Cruzer 8GB drive
creates a virtual CD drive as well as the thumb drive itself.

Yes, I did many times in the past but CD drive showed up just recently.
Suppose it a virtual drive, then how can it be removed?

Re: Extra CD Drive suddenly shows up on Windows Explorer

So you did not install any applicaitons that use a Virtual Drive. What about
what Qu0ll said? Did you insert a USB stick?

Do you have MAgicISO or ISOBuster or something like that installed? I know
there are some other apps out there that can mount ISO images as well. I can
not think of tham all off hand.

Have you installed any new software? Drivers?

Re: Extra CD Drive suddenly shows up on Windows Explorer

What is Qu011?
I plugged USB stick many time in the past but the CD drive showed up
just recently.
I installed PowerISO recently and emergence of the CD drive occurred
after that installation but not necessarily immediately thereafter.
If this software created the CD drive how can I remove it?

Read the PowerISO documentation or help file.

Re: Extra CD Drive suddenly shows up on Windows Explorer

The problem has been resolved. I just did not know that the PowerISO has
something to do with it.
I thank you all so very much.
