| Re: Outlook 2007 Failed to Initialize make sure you have all Updates for as well the OS plus Office 2007 SP1 and SQL server updates and SPs. BCM in Outlook is in fact only a front-end to an under-the-hood working SQL database. when Outlook 07 originally came out ther were lots of issues on Vista systems but MS has released a few important updates and after all it should work as expected. Best you use Microsoft Update ( every MS product )and not Windows Update ( OS alone )( see settings in controlpanel -> Windows Updates ), this way all needed stuff should come right to your Desktop ;) "Ed43" <Ed43@discussions.microsoft.com> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:14D004DD-D105-42DE-B2C6-5643F965F3A6@microsoft.com... > Has anyone seen this error message when trying to 0pen Outlook 2007 > "Business Contact Manager failed to initialize common language run time > error 0X80131700" > > I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Office 2007 and Business Contact > Manager at the direction of a Dell Technician all to no avail. > > Am running Vista Business operating system on a Dell Vostro 1500 and > Microsoft 2007 Small Business applications package |

| Re: Outlook 2007 Failed to Initialize Olaf, Thanks for the advice. I downloaded every update and or service pack for Office 2007 and/or Outlook 2007 from the MSN Office website. Nothing has worked. I still get the same error message. The Technician from Dell suggested that I reinstall the entire Vista Business operating system back to the factory installation level. That certainly seems a bit extreem as a way to get Office Outlook 2007 to initialize and run.
