| More of 4 partition with windows vista home premium I have windows home premium and I need do more of 4 partition with my hard disck. When I try do the fifth partition, the system tried to do a dinamic disc, but this option isn't support by windows vista home premium. (I will need other version of windows vista) Somebody could tell me how can I do more of 4 partition with this version of windows vista? Thanks in advantage |

You can only have 4 partitions, but one of these can be an Extended partition (instead of Primary). The Extended partition can contain as many logical drives as you want, each assigned a drive letter and appearing as a "partition" of the drive. |

Unfortunately the disk manager in Vista won't tell you this, or indeed offer you the option of creating an extended/logical partitions when you only have the one which the system is sitting on plus ooodles of free space. It does for me. When I create the 4th partition it automatically makes it an extended partition. |
