I have Microsoft Vista and every time I try to download anything i.e. windows
live messenger - it comes up with the following:

c:\users\zoe\Downloads\WLinstaller.exe is not a valid Win32 application

Can someone please help

I should have mentioned that I have an Acer laptop and Microsoft Vista

Hi,
If the problem is only with EXE files, look for the REG file, exefix_cu.reg
at
[url]http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/165/1/Restore-the-exe-file-association-in-Windows-Vista-after-incorrectly-associating-it-with-another-application.html[/url]

Download the REG file, right-click> Merge.

Hi Don

I have completed the instructions you gave me and downloaded the reg file
and clicked on merge (I don't know what is supposed to happen then).

I then tried to download Windows live messenger again and it has come up
with the exact same message as previously

c:\users\zoe\Downloads\WLinstaller.exe is not a valid Win32 application
