| Re: Can I upgrade my laptop Vista home premium version You would need another license if it is already installed and activated on your desktop. Only one install per license. -- Dustin Harper dharper@vistarip.com http://www.vistarip.com | Vista Resource & Information Page "Michelle" <GirlFriendTess********.com(NoSpamPlease)> wrote in message news:9748F1BB-C011-46AF-A160-73EFA09AC2D7@microsoft.com... > Can I upgrade my new laptop Vista home premium version with my desktop > Vista > ultimate retail version or will MS require me to procure an additional > license? | Re: Can I upgrade my laptop Vista home premium version Hi dzomlija, No, it is most definitely not allowed to install any version/edition of Windows on more than one pc. This is exactly the same rule that's been in effect on every version of Windows starting with Windows 3.1. The only thing new, starting with Windows XP, is that there's now an enforcement mechanism. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

But again, confirm with Microsoft first. No, this is *not* correct. It's one license per computer, for all versions of Windows and all editions of Vista. > This is allowed for Office 2007. Yes, but not with Windows. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

The MS Office license allows this, but NO Microsoft operating system can be used this way. -- Tim Slattery MS MVP(Shell/User) Slattery_T@bls.gov http://members.cox.net/slatteryt |
