| Just curious Why did Microsoft decide to take out the fax program when they came up with Vista Premium? I enjoyed it with XP Home, and really can't understand that decision. (I know it comes with Vista Ultimate, but you didn't have to have XP Pro to have it) |

I think the public was cheated. Fax should have been in home premium for the simple reason that businesses usually have machine faxes.. but a home user doesn't have a separate machine and relies on the computer to play the role of the fax... Thumbs down on vista for one more time "Dont Agree" <neverhave@neverwill.com> wrote in message news:59ECj.2929$u62.631@trndny07...[color=blue] > Why did Microsoft decide to take out the fax program when they came up > with Vista Premium? | Re: Just curious It seems they are always taking out something with new versions. With XP they removed the Kodak OCX's which resulted in another purchase of 150.00 per computer for those with programs that used these. I use the Fax all the time in my XP machine. Fortunately, the Snappyfax program is far superior so for 30.00 I don't intend to pay the price to move up to Ultimate. I am not sure if the Remote Desktop server is on this Vista Premium since I only use the client to access my computer at the office. | Re: Just curious These were controls that a program developer could use to put imaging routines into an application. For example, I used this in my program to scan in documents, insurance, etc. for each of my cust records, saves all kinds of time filing and can be instantly retrieved.
