USB hub and memory stick - Technology Questions

USB hub and memory stick

When I plug my memory stick into my hub (Belkin 8 port) everything else
that's plugged into it does like a reset. The camera does what it does
during a reboot (Orbit) it's like the hub loses power for a second and then
restarts. This didn't happen with XP and the same things are plugged into
it.

Thanks for any heads up why this is happening and to prevent it.
