| Software Licensing Service playing up Hi All, I have a few Vista Machines on our network that occasionally have the following problem. About every 2-3 days, this problem will come back. Symptoms: Can't open control panel. The control panel will flash up briefly then close. Can't print. No application is able to print. Temporary Fix. A reboot doesn't always fix the problem. After plenty of googling, I found a temporary solution. That is to restart the "Software Licensing" service. This fixes the problem for a while, but it comes back after a few days. Another suggestion was to follow the instructions here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;313222 But that didn't seem to help. Is anyone else having this problem?? |

| RE: Software Licensing Service playing up Please follow this troubleshooting procedure: 1. Download and run the MGA Diagnostic Tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 2. After running the MGA Diagnostic Tool, click on the "Windows" tab and then click on "Copy". 3. Next, visit the following website and create a post in the "WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post. http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx?SiteID=25 4. A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Microsoft Community Newsgroups news://msnews.microsoft.com/ "Bob" wrote: > Hi All, > > I have a few Vista Machines on our network that occasionally have the > following problem. > > About every 2-3 days, this problem will come back. > > Symptoms: > Can't open control panel.
