So... I'm a little disappointed in SP1 promoting support for UEFI. I
(foolishly) imagined that the changes would also include support for
installing (with a Non-UEFI system) the "boot" partition (not the
"system" partition on a GPT drive, but apparently not (since I tried it!).

It seems crazy since all of the code must be included the integrated SP1
DVD to allow Vista to run from the GPT drive. My attempts to derive the
combination of code and BCD definition have led me nowhere.

This would have been a great way to prepare for the changeover since it
would appear that the UEFI system partition subsumes all of the function
of the system partition (despite the backward move to FAT).

However, it does raise a question in my mind: where are the UEFI 2.x
compliant, X64 boards that it was tested against? As far as I can see
there aren't any. Intel Macs are either UEFI 1.x or 32-bit or both.
There are many references online to a MSI board, but that seems
unavailable to mere mortals.
